SYNOPSIS

In 2052, an excavator operator working in a scrapyard discovers a vintage speaker still emitting sound. Fascinated by the rhythm of a forgotten age, he assembles a crude sound system and decides to bring noise back into a perfectly synchronized world.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

SYNC grows out of my work as both a filmmaker and an electronic musician. Its title refers to a future driven by efficiency and order, and to the sync button on DJ equipment: a function that aligns everything precisely, but can also flatten hesitation, deviation and the feel of a human hand.

Working with AI-generated images, I also make AI a subject of the film. The contrast between a smooth, white system and the dust and grease of a scrapyard brings the image-making process into dialogue with the film’s questions about perfection. Rooted in my trust in rhythm and the body, the film looks for what resists calculation and synchronization: noise, error, desire and perception, and the humanity they preserve.
